“BBC!? Hello? Suspenseful stage/screen/radio play by Rachel Feeny-Williams calling! The short version was twisty-turny entertainment but the full length weaves you in and out and up and down dark corridors until its satisfying deneument. Murder mystery "fun".”
(Nora Louise Syran, Playwright)

"Having the opportunity to play Lisa was an absolute dream. Such a complex character with a tough exterior and fragile interior. I remember first reading the script and being absolutely hooked, I just couldn't put it down. An emotional roller coaster with twists and unexpected turns. I absolutely adored this piece of writing."
(Charlotte Sisson, Played Lisa in the Hen and Chickens Production)

“Wow. This is an incredible tension driven show. A supreme mystery. The tension throughout was palpable. I couldn't stop reading. I didn't want to stop reading. I had to know. All of it. At no point in this amazing show do you feel confident in the innocence of anyone (Except Williams). Rachel Feeny-Williams though also puts everyone in the crosshairs of being a victim or a potential victim (Except Jenkins). I can't even imagine this as an eleven-page script. Not only do I want to see this, I want to direct this, maybe even film it. Wow!”
(Joe Swenson, Playwright)

"Believe Me' was a joy to direct and to be a part of. We performed the play as part of Creo Theatre's Short Play Festival in 2022 where I played DS Williams. The writing is enticing and the storyline full of twists and turns, leaving the audience guessing and putting the pieces together in their own minds. The power play between characters is interesting both from police officer to civilian, and amongst the colleagues themselves. A piece of writing that truly captures the tension when the stakes are at their highest. The play is in two halves - one half between the brother and sister leaving bread crumbs of plot for the audience and the second half of pure intense questioning and shock. It leaves the audience with one true question- who do you believe?"
(Ellie Shields, Played DS Williams and Directed Hen and Chickens Production)

“Believe Me? By Rachel Feeny-Williams beckons the question – do you believe a sibling is innocent when the awful truth is smacking you in the face? Family dynamics can be difficult. The playwright has written quite a disturbing plot. How it will be resolved is dubious. The characters are in an uncertain dilemma which could go in different directions.
There are two main characters in this play Eddie and Lisa. Eddie requires assistance from Lisa. He has found himself mixed up in a situation that requires him to law low. Lisa is a loving caring sister; she genuinely loves her brother; they have been through many sordid situations. Unfortunately, his issues are sometimes overwhelming, but her good nature takes over and helps him with his immediate problems. The dialogue is beautifully written. The reader understands the delicate balance between the two siblings. There is love, but an obvious trepidation encompassing the subtext. Each moment carries a lot of weight. From beginning to end the plot shows risks and hesitation from both siblings. Eddie needs Lisa, no question. Will Lisa help him with the big issue is problematic. “Believe Me?” by Rachel Feeny-Williams could easily be a segment from “Law and Order.” A crime has been committed. Will Lisa stand by her brother or turn him in? The playwright has left it up to the reader to decide. Surfside Players Ten-Minute Contest thanks the playwright for intriguing play. As usual Ms. Feeny-Williams explores the fallibility of human beings and has created quite a story."
(Jennifer M. Wolf, Surfside Playhouse 10 Minute Play Competition)

“Rachel Feeny-Williams has crafted a mystery that centers on Eddie and Lisa, brother and sister devoted to each other and both holding secrets. A murder puts DI Jenkins in aggressive pursuit of Eddie, the prime suspect. Williams does a great job of keeping us guessing, and although Eddie and Lisa are sympathetic characters, the possibility of their guilt is all too real. No spoilers here, but it’s enough to say, the mystery isn’t predictable. A Believe Me is a compelling mystery with a surprising conclusion.”
(Kim E. Ruyle, Playwright)

“As a writer/director who almost entirely does comedy, I know a good comedy when I read one and this script had me laughing out loud. It's a very funny, well-structured and briskly paced farce about two retired couples who holiday in adjacent caravans, each bringing a younger relative along with them, and with a few other characters drifting by, much confusion and misunderstanding ensues. Easily staged with simple sets, simple tech and a small cast.”
(Rob Chantler, Director of Free Theatre Company Production)

“Feeny-Williams writes a laugh-out-loud comedy that has great pacing and is structured beautifully. Feeny-Williams does a great job of channeling and rediscovering these relationships between the characters which just adds to the uncomfortable situations for these characters but adds so much laughter for the audience. This is a great play for actors and directors to bring to life. There are so many great moments of comedy that would work so well if this were to be fully staged.”
(Brenton Kneiss, Playwright)

“Oh, what absolute fun! Rachel Feeny-Williams has created a perfectly structured farce with a set that relies on two camping trailers. Timing is everything, and the timing for the characters to overhear bits of conversation out of context or witness something that isn’t what it seems is hysterical! All of the wrong conclusions these delightful characters reach come to a chaotic conclusion that will leave audiences exhausted from laughter. Where can I see this?!”
(Morey Norkin, Playwright)

“"SECRETS, SEX AND OVER 60" unfolds with humor and heart. The script brings to life a tale of friendship and hidden pasts. The dialogue sparkles with wit, tension added with a layer of intrigue. Rachel Feeney-Williams has composition offers balanced light-hearted moments with emotional depth, making for an engaging and thought-provoking experience. The characters are relatable, and the setting is a character in itself, adding color to this charming story of escapism and connection.”

“I love plays that take familiar characters and develop them in unexpected ways. There's little that can be more unexpected than to take J.M. Barrie's Peter Pan characters, age them into adults, and set them in a grungy Film Noir world where Barrie himself becomes the hard-boiled detective lured into a mystery by a beautiful woman--that would be Wendy. At its core this is a play about drug abuse and the appearance of a dangerous new drug called...well, read it and find out for yourself. Another wonderful work from the unique creative mind of Rachel Feeny-Williams.”
(Donald E. Baker, Playwright)

“This expansion of Rachel’s short play is a fantastic journey into a noir world inhabited by distorted versions of characters from Peter Pan. It reads like a Dashiell Hammet novel and begs to be fully produced. I am a big fan of Rachel Feeny-Williams, and this play delivers exactly what I’ve come to expect from her work, brilliance.”
(Christopher Soucy, Playwright)

“In “Faith, Trust and …” Rachel Feeny-Williams creates a vivid Neverland with characters from J. M. Barrie’s "Peter Pan" transported to a metropolis overrun by underworld bosses and organized crime. Bodies pile up, and suspense tightens. Audience surprise at all the plot’s twists testifies to Feeny-Williams’ mastery in upending expectations, and yet the play observes the classic noir convention of addressing injustice. At first comic, then tragic, “Faith, Trust and…” is a blast for actors. Set designers will love it. Some roles can be double cast, and the play can be adapted for radio. Very highly recommended.”
(The Depot for New Play Readings)

"Just think of a happy thought, any Happy little Thought...& you can fly.
I adore the one-act version of this play, so obviously I am a big fan of this expanded full-length. FAITH, TRUST AND... takes all the whimsical characters we know and love, and drops them into a noir crime drama that keeps the audience on the edge of their seats. Rachel Feeny-Williams' characters are distinct and compelling, in a script so vivid and well-crafted it jumps off the page, making it so easy to visualize a fully-staged production.”

“Holiday shows, especially ones based on A Christmas Carol, are an exercise in tightrope walking. How do you be sentimental without becoming mawkish or turning wiseacre? Rachel Feeny-Williams shows herself an accomplished tightrope walker with this show. It tells the story, has some surprises, keeps the sentiment and seasons the mixture with humor. What more could you want for Christmas?”
(Richard Thompson, Playwright)

“Rachel Feeny-Williams takes the Dickens classic, modernizes it, swaps some gender roles, adds some slapstick, and delivers a delightful adaptation for those looking for a fun alternative to their holiday lineup. ”
(Melissa Schmitz, Playwright and host of 101 Stage Adaptations Podcast)

“As a devotee of the original book, I am always intrigued by updates to Dickens' classic tale. This play is the best by a mile. Rachel Feeny-Williams updates "A Christmas Carol" with new characters, new genders and (importantly) new jokes. But she keeps the themes of the original intact, imbuing them with new urgency and relevance for modern audiences. I heard a fantastic production of this play on Feeny-Williams' "Theatrical Shenanigans" podcast and loved it. Check it out; you will too.”
(Adam Richter, Playwright)

“As they say, sometimes what you need is right in front of you and all you need is an egotistical bastard to make you realize that before the curtain rises. Feeny-Williams takes us down a very rich rabbit hole of the woes of one amateur theater and has struck gold with her characters, the dialogue and play. Bravo!”
(Lee R. Lawing, Playwright)

“Great fun! Some romance, some farce and a nice cuppa ;) I'll be recommending it to a local English speaking Amateur Dramatics group in the South of France as the casting options are spot on.”
(Nora Louise Syran, Playwright))

“If you've ever been involved in community theater you'll appreciate this comedy where a group of amateurs deal with a know-it-all professional who proves himself anything but. The dialog is sharp and, don't worry, there's a happy ending. True, there is a batch of drama along the way, but as my wife (not a theater person) says when I tell her about something, "Drama in a theater group! Who knew?"”

“This felt.. real. A successful amateur theatre playwright moves to London to write a gritty and emotional new play. It takes a nemesis to enable Rachel to dig deep and find what is real. This piece should be expanded to a full length show - so many opportunities for conflict, discovery, and honesty. RACHEL FEENY-WILLIAMS' talent for writing dialogue that moves without effort is a true gift."
(Debra A. Cole, Playwright)

“My God, this was a riveting piece to read. As writers, we've all felt the panic of the blank page. Rachel Feeny-Williams is probably no exception (though sometimes I think she has made a deal with the Devil for non-stop inspiration) but she powers through and produces work of such high quality, that you'd never know it. The characters here feel like they stepped out of real life and I defy you not to get caught up in their needs and desires. This was wonderful and gets my highest recommendation!”
(John Busser, Playwright)

“I’m already a fan of Rachel Feeny-Williams’ work, but just like the Rachel who is the central character in this play, Feeny-Williams seems to have found some new inspiration to take her work to another level! Not something I ever thought was needed or possible! The story and characters are all brimming with gritty realism. And to think this was written in a day! This is truly deserving of a production!”
(Morey Norkin, Playwright)

“Hats off to Rachel for writing this great play in just one day. It reflects the story perfectly. Gritty and at times darkly funny, this play gives a respectful nod to the film Withnail and I. Putting two contrasting writers and personalities in a confined space and wait for a miracle is a tall order, do they succeed? The twist at the end caught me somewhat by surprise too. A great piece of which to have a lot of fun staging.”

“Oh man. Panto stories are so much fun. The evil Reality steals (and edits!) a bunch of classic fairy tales, and Madame Storyteller and her friends have to confront him and set things right. The rewrites were a lot of fun and made some pretty good points (Cinderella DID only just meet the Prince - can that really be love? Following a stranger IS a very bad choice and maybe Alice should forget about that rabbit. The Genie DOES deserve benefits from their employer, etc.) This is some great fun, with songs and a happy ending to boot!”
(Lisa Dellagiarino-Feriend, Playwright)

“An enchanting collection of quirky characters. While Madame Storyteller delights in fairytales, pantomimes and happy endings, the evil villain, Reality, doesn’t. In fact, he’s determined to rewrite all the happy endings that Madame Storyteller has worked so hard to preserve. A fast-moving, attention grabbing play, sure to delight young audiences."

“Wow! I have read a few pieces of this prolific authors work, this play goes way beyond in both content and quality. Dare I say this is Rachel's true vocation? In SUFFOCATING she tells the harrowing, gut wrenching story of the desperate plight of Charlotte as she's sold into a life of prostitution. Staged in one long, flowing scene, in a series of monologues and dialogues, this would be both visually gripping and uncomfortable in equal measure. I'm very keen to direct this play, A story which sadly still happens across the world and needs to be told! Incredible.”

"Fragile Minds"
"Fragile Minds" is a family comedy/farce that offers a fast paced glimpse into one chaotic evening.

“James doesn't know what he's in for. Susan's effort to put the room in balance throws the room off balance. What Susan and her family don't know is that their dynamic may not be helpful to themselves. And this Preston Sturges-level farce complete with physical humor begins. What Rachel Feeny-Williams has done is create a vehicle to unpack the trauma change, heartbreak, secrets (kept, revealed) can have on us and the risks we'll take to avoid them. Susan has kept her family secret from James, but Sue and Lu are the heart of the play. Perfect build up to chaos.”
(Ricardo Soltero-Brown, Playwright)

“A combination of classic drawing-room comedy and British farce, Rachel Feeny-Williams crafts a very funny piece in FRAGILE MINDS that is fueled by the circumstances only family disfunction can provide. The play leads you through some interesting family dynamics down a long and winding road exploring what it means to love and be loved by nuclear family - as well as those you choose to include. A few twists and turns bring us to a satisfying conclusion where happiness is based on building honest and open relationships. This sweet play has something for everyone. Well done!”
(Mike Byham, Playwright)

“This play will lure you into a false sense of security! It begins as your typical kitchen sink drama, with a nervous woman preparing the house for the arrival of visiting family. As it turns out, she really did have something to be nervous about! The playwright drops plenty of little grenades, any of which could go off at any moment, leading to a tense but humorous family farce. The ensemble does their best to protect the "fragile mind" of the baby of the family, only to reveal their own challenges and fragility in the process!”
(Aly Kantor, Playwright)

“What is it about families? The people we should be most honest with can be the people we construct the most elaborate lies for. Is it to protect them? Or ourselves? That's the situation Rachel Feeny-Williams explores in FRAGILE MINDS in which a family constructs an entire ecosystem of untruth on a foundation of a bigger untruth. The contortions the family members put themselves through to sustain this impossible construct is alternately hilarious and painful. A rich potential vehicle for an ensemble theatre which successfully maintains many strains at once, but all to a palpable and resonant effect.”

“The end of this show carries a sudden and new tension for me, the kind that can spawn future entries in a detective series after a prodigy of sorts is revealed. It's a nice refutation of the original sexist point a character makes. Feeny-Williams writes well and often, putting out shorts faster than I could ever dream of. Here she showcases her skills at a longer format. One recommendation says she'd be great at television writing. On a similar note, I'd love to spend a night at the theatre filled with her detective works.”
(Jarred Corona, Playwright)

“I am convinced Rachel Feeny-Williams should be writing for television series. The ideas are endless and the way the clues unfold in this story, it’s brilliant. Rachel will write the next great detective series! I predict it here!”
(Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn, Playwright)

“Rachel Feeny-Williams has expanded her fascinating deep dive into anamnesis and crime scene investigation into a fuller, more detailed one act play, adding some heartbreaking background details as well as a few key characters, and it is just as exciting and provocative as her earlier 10-minute, leaving the reader (and/or audience member) sated – which is pretty much what a good police procedural should do. Good show!”

“Set in Kansas, FAMILY HISTORY is a domestic murder mystery - a genre in which RFW excels. This thrilling play, ostensibly about a family’s “temper gene,” is driven by Michael and his sister Sydney, siblings who share a dark secret: the death of their father fifteen years prior to their return home. As the pressure builds their dynamic is both touching and menacing as the playwright keeps us guessing all the way to the end. I admire how Rachel weaves in nostalgia, particularly with Grandmother. And the theatrical use of offstage voices for the intense denouement. Well done.”
(Charles Scott Jones, Playwright)

“ Well, here's a family with an awful lot of history! The tension builds dramatically as we follow siblings Michael and Sydney travel back to their home in Kansas, but there's no wizardry dream here, but a past event which was always going to come back to bite them. This is Rachel doing what she loves best, and the twist she throws at us at the end will have audiences reeling! ”
(Christopher Plumridge, Playwright)

“The tension that Rachel Feeny-Williams creates her is absolutely palpable. This story is extremely well thought out and developed. This is absolutely a fantastic work of theatre that Rachel takes audiences on.”
(Brenton Kniess, Playwright)

“Once again, RFW has convinced me she should be writing cinematic thrillers and serial crime dramas. The twists in this play are non stop, like a great roller coaster ride! I can even see this story continuing as there is so much character and chaos to mine from all these details. I bet it was absolutely mind-boggling visualizing the map in RFW's mind as this story was being concocted!”
(Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn, Playwright)

“In this tense family drama, RFW has the reader on a string from the word "go." She masterfully reveals tiny hints one tempting tidbit at a time until you find yourself leaning so far forward in your seat that your forehead is touching the ground! As soon as the pieces begin to come together, your jaw will surely join your forehead! It's a complex story full of twists, turns, red herrings, and sneaky clues about the truth. Don't get too attached to any of the characters—there really are no "good guys" to be found here! What a tense ride!”
(Aly Kantor, Playwright)

“So many secrets! Who can you trust? You can trust Rachel Feeny-Williams to keep you guessing about what happened the night Michael and Sydney’s father died and so much more! Full of twists and red herrings, FAMILY HISTORY is a mystery/thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Perfectly crafted for stage or audio production. I hope it finds many opportunities for both!”
(Morey Norkin, Playwright)

“Small towns and families have secrets. In one particular family in one particular small town, one of those secrets is who caused the death of an alcoholic and abusive man. Family members, old friends, and romantic rivals all have opinions about who did it. Rachel Feeny-Williams works out the solution to this mystery in a very satisfying script that keeps you guessing even after you think you've identified the murderer. Very good, intriguing work.”
(Donald E. Baker, Playwright)

“Wow. This is a pot boiler of a suspense story. Family secrets, betrayal, and the unshakeable feeling of dread. Delivering a balanced comeuppance is a difficult feat that Rachel pulls off with a deft touch. This could easily be a film, and is most certainly a well crafted event for the stage!”
(Christopher Soucy, Playwright)

“For fifteen long years, Michael had faithfully guarded his sister's dark and ominous secret. However, everything changes when she unexpectedly appears in his office one fateful day... they go back home to their small, tight-knit community, and we are thrown into a web of family secrets, simmering tensions, and elaborate cover-up stories that had festered for generations. The lines between justifications and excuses blur. Time has a relentless way of catching up with those who dared to conceal the truth for too long. BRAVA!”
(Dana Hall, Playwright)

“Family is ... complicated. As FAMILY HISTORY unfolds, you'll be left questioning what each characters' motives are and where the truth lies in the beautifully crafted grey space. A thoughtful, provoking and edge-of-your-seat piece from Feeny-Williams.”
(Dawn Branch, Playwright)

“I adore the writing of RACHEL FEENY-WILLIAMS, and her newest full-length piece, FAMILY HISOTRY, will have audiences on the edge of their seats. A master of family tension and secrets, RACHEL has crafted a delicious world of drama and mystery set in the heart of the American midwest. The banter between the siblings is truly sublime. The relationship with the grandmother is perfection. Additional characters round out a cast that will keep everyone guessing. BRAVA.”
(Debra A. Cole, Playwright)
